Our Roots

The 1906 Foundation seeks to increase the education and advancement of waterwomen and watermen and also funds grants for the Long Beach Junior Lifeguard program through the Long Beach Fire Department Lifeguards-Marine Safety Division.

​

The name 1906 describes the year the lifeguard program was created and honors Long Beach Lifeguard Robin Durnin, who passed away in 2014. The foundation was announced in his honor during Robin's induction into the Long Beach Lifeguard Hall of Fame

Contributions By Check

Check donations may be mailed to Long Beach Community Foundation, 400 Oceangate, Suite 800, Long Beach, CA 90802. Please write the 1906 Foundation in the memo section of your check.
 

100% of your donation is deductible for income tax purposes, but a credit card service charge of about 3% will be deducted from your donation. You may want to consider increasing the amount of your donation to cover this necessary cost.
